In a sponsorship meeting, you will be face to face with company reps, seeking to close a sponsorship deal.
Goals:
- Inform the reps about what we do and why we need sponsorship.
- Present them with the sponsorship tiers and benefits.
- If well received, ask what tier they’d be most likely to sponsor.
- Make a plan moving forward.
Preparation
Roles:
- Main speaker (usually the president or business lead/member)
- Technical person
- Note taker
- Backup/observers (optional)
Most meetings in the past have been held in meeting rooms in BIDC.
The Meeting
- Thanks and introductions
- Overview of the club and competition. Key points:
- We are a prominent robotics organization on campus with many members
- We are capable engineers building advanced robots (In other words, you’re gonna want our resume booklet)
- We compete in the RoboMaster robotics competition
- What we do requires a lot of funds
- Present our sponsorship tiers and benefits
