Required Volunteer Roles and How Many Needed for Each Role
Assume that the number of people needed is the minimum/least amount needed for the role to function correctly
- aka assume those few people will be running their roles the entire time
Volunteer Coordinator:
- There should be at least 1 volunteer Coordinator
- Drafts up volunteer assignments and volunteer schedules
- Make clear to volunteers that if there is any conflict, to immediately reach out to the Volunteer Coordinator about the conflict
- Scouts out, and assigns, “Role Managers.” Volunteer Coordinator is directly responsible for the Role Managers
Head Referee(s):
- 1-2 Head Referees Minimum
- Responsible for running the referee system
- Knows how to use the referee system
- Requires at least 72 hours of training. Best done over the summer when preparing for the previous year’s RMUL
- Knows how to fix the referee system
- Knows why the robots lose connection and how to fix it
- Knows how to set up the pilot room
Referee
- Might not need any, as these could just be backup Head Referees
- Number is variable. We should be looking for upcoming head refs and training them as refs
- Needs to know Red and Yellow Card conditions
- Refer back to that year’s rules
- Should also be willing to learn how the Referee system works
- Incentive for this role would be to start learning how the Referee system works
- They might be Head Referee for next year’s Midwest Conference
- Needs around 4 hours of training
Reception Desk
- 1-2 people Minimum
- Responsible for manning the reception desk
- Able to answer questions about the club and the event
